Where is the Chamber located?
We are at 2 Kilton Lane, Machias
Our office is located on Route 1 across from Helen’s Restaurant, in the big red train station.

What services do you offer tourists and visitors?
We have restroom facilities, travel information about both Maine and Canada; free wi-fi; information about local visitors’ sites, nearby banks and ATMs; information on Down East accomodations and restaurants; on-site historical items and objects; and referrals for services.

How far is Machias from:
Bangor – 2 hours; Ellsworth- 1 hour 15 minutes; Calais and the Canadian border- 1 hour; Eastport- 1 hour; Lubec- 30 minutes.

How difficult is it to cross the border into Canada?
Not difficult at all! You will need a valid passport or Passcard. Yes, everyone in New Brunswick speaks English; yes, the businesses accept American money; and yes, a quick call to your cell phone provider can add a week of international calling privileges very easily.
